Date Night!!!!

This past Friday, Sam had an off week in football, so we made arrangements for my cousin Kim to keep Ella. On Friday we went to Z-Tejas in downtown Austin for dinner and a few drinks. I quickly found out that anything more than one drink is more than enough for me these days. Not having any alcohol for nine months, takes away the slightest bit of an alcohol tolerance you may have had. I don't want to sound like a drunk, I only had 3 drinks, but it hit me hard. Especially leaving the restaurant in new heels and up a flight of stairs. Luckily I didn't fall or hurt myself in any way. We wanted to see a movie as well but it was too late by the time we were finished with dinner. On Saturday, Kim went to a tail gate party for the Longhorns and got home by 6:45-7pm. This was enough time for us to have dinner with her and catch a late feature. I don't know if anyone has been there, but if you live in or visit Austin, you must go to Alamo draft house to watch movies. The place has the best atmosphere. They serve snacks, dinner, desserts, beer and wine. They also have theme nights. Each location has different things going on so it's best to check their website to see whats going on at each place. Just an example... Next month they will be showing Monty Python and the Holy Grail. They are giving everyone in the theater a pair of coconut shells to make the horse sounds and people can call/act out the lines. Think, Rocky Horror. Anyway we had a great weekend in Austin, doing most of our favorite things from when we lived there. (another must in Austin - Wholefoods) Thanks Kim for keeping Ella, we'll definitely have to do it again.

3 months old

Well as of Friday, September 14th, Ella is 3 months old. I can't believe how much she has changed and grown in such a short period of time. Before long it will be 6, 9 then 12, so we are enjoying every moment with her that we have now!! Just the other day we were at Babies R Us and Sam saw this little girl sitting up in her stroller, looking around at everything and reaching for things. When he asked how old she was he found out she was 9 months. He came back and told me " I can't wait for Ella to be 9 months, she's going to be so cool!" I couldn't imagine what it would be like at 6 months, so 9 months was way out of the picture. Then a friend of mine came by on Friday with her son, Robert, who is 6 months old and it was so cool! I was completely blown away at what all he could do and to see what we have to look forward to. Look at how much hair he has and his big pretty eyes. It would be nice if Ella could have that much hair, but with my history of hair as a baby, her chances are looking pretty slim.

I don't know if everyone got the email about the photos we had taken of Ella, but the photographer has her own blog and posts pictures of the shoots. There are some pictures of Ella on there. TheSmileHouse.blogspot.com . She does great work and has all different ideas and things that you can do. Right now she is doing an ABC's book. You bring in different toys/items for each letter and she takes the pictures and puts it together in a book. It's really neat. I have become her latest word of mouth advertisement. Maybe I should discuss some sort of advertisement fee or discount!!?? Look how much she has grown in such a short amount of time! Well life calls, enjoy the pictures.

A New Friend

Well we're back from our trip. It was short but fun and the grandparents are happy. Today we went with Sam to work and it wasn't too bad. They had practice this morning. After that we met some of our friends in town to get an X-ray of one of Sam's teeth. We met at Jeremy's dads dental office. Heather is taking her state board tests and was going to use Sam for a cavity. Turns out Sam didn't have one. (yeah! Sorry Heather) Sarah, Jeremy's wife, met us up there and brought their daughter Emma. She was born on May 19th. Ella and Emma had fun staring at each other, trying to figure out what the other on was. It was more fun for us watching the two of them together. We spent the time asking: how much is she eating now, does she sleep through the night, how old is she? All of the typical proud new parent questions. It's weird how our topic of conversations have changed. When they get older we will have to get them together again for play dates. Here they are with their daddies holding them, looking as cute as can be.

Holiday Weekend

It's the Labor day weekend and we are going to Me-Maw and Paw-Paw's. Right now I'm home alone because Sam had to go into work for treatments. For those who don't know, he's an Athletic Trainer in San Antonio. Every Saturday for about a hour they go in for any player who was injured or just needs something worked on. The great part of it was that he took Ella with him. He's been a little jealous of the time we spend together and the lack of time he has been able to spend with her. Unfortunately, that's the price we have to pay during football season in Texas!! Anyway... I almost didn't know what to do with myself. Then I remembered... I need to pack, wash bottles, feed the animals, start a load of laundry and give myself a bath. It amazed me at how fast I could get all of this done with out a baby around. That's how I had the time to stop and do this!
Last week we took Ella to have professional pictures made. I can't wait to see them because the photographer we took her to is so good!! Check out her web site TheSmileHouse.com
She also has a blog and posts pictures on it. After we view our proofs (Tuesday) she will put them on her blog. Well it's been fun doing this without interruptions, but Sam and Ella are on their way home and I need to be ready for them. I'll post some new pictures before Monday. Bye!
